znuh	5:24a	Thou Shall Not. Having somehow magically been able to support myself for the past five-six years on DJing alone, thanks to the efforts of friends and awesome people alike, having been able to achieve five Residencies, been given the gift of my own night in Boston, kept that night for a year, and now with several future irons in the fire, people have started to ask me for advice. What comes next are essentially the basics of what I've learned when it comes to playing music out at clubs. This does not encompass everything; it barely scratches the surface. Do I know everything? I sure as hell hope that I never do. Every time I play music I learn something new, and more often than not, get schooled in a new and exciting way. I've experienced enough crummy, bad, awful nights however, where things one should never do are so painfully illustrated that it makes my flesh crawl. Here are my Basic Rules for grabbing songs, and playing them to a danceclub floor. ( Big List Here. ) This is just for starters. I'm sure it'll grow as I remember more. (13 Comments |Comment on this)

znuh	3:52p	My X-Mas VaCa in MD ..Can be summarized by this: Me (Sent on mission to pick up quiche at local Safeway): Hey, where can I find the Quiche? Cute Manager Girl: Pause. Stares. "Uh. Quiche? What's that?" Me: "It's...uh. Well. It's like a pie but with eggs and broccoli?" CMG, grabbing passing boy moving soda boxes: "Hey, you know what a quiche is?" BMSB: "What? No." CMG: "Let me call the Manager." Me: "Uhh...." CMG over store intercom: "BOBBY WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT A UHM QUICHE IS AND WHERE WE CAN FIND IT." (Phone rings): "What's a Quiche?" CMG and Bobby: "Ohhhh...he must mean THAT. (Ravens fan moves past and leers at my colored hair) It's over in 'ready to go food'. Which is where I found it. Had a great X-Mas with Family!
